straighten your face now put your walking mask on it feels good to ignore them doesn't it? and fake being at peace with your thoughts while you rot beneath your headphones you know the liar has always been you she's moving over while you're sinking in a barely covered up malice that stains all you feel the lights from your windows match the coldness of your dreams it has finally gotten to you it has finally gotten in 'cause there come those evenings when you would do anything to get a little farther away from yourself (to) get back all the love you gave away give back all the love you received while you drink your heart out if you feel inadequate out of place gasping to breathe then you'll know you feel like me yes I always felt unreal like this sea of concrete which I drank to the bottom while your image slips away 'cause there will be evenings when you will do anything to get a little farther away from yourself (to) ignore all the love you gave away forget about the love you received while you drink your heart out

coin toss 03:42
you wake up, it's 4AM no there was no one moving there in the shadows turn off the lights (and) go back to sleep another sunless day another breakfast in this place and within me the old thought growing ever strong once again 'cause when we dreamt we used to dream the same and I've always thought that was something that could not ever change you swore to me things couldn't go further low you swore and then the Fall between you and me it's easier to feel now that you're out there and my pain it's a heap of random letters that can't spell your name when your life has always been a coin toss you let all you've ever loved go away on the rails heads tails you've won you've lost coin toss

it could be anyone out there it could be anyone you see it could be anyone in this street it could be standing near your seat it could be some one you don't yet know it could be some one you'll never meet it could be anything you see it could be everyone and everything 'cause the enemy is everywhere the enemy is everywhere it could be anyone at work it could be anyone where you have lunch it could be anyone in this pub it could be parked next to your car it could be anyone you know (or) some one you don't remember the name it could be some one that you've just met once it could have been your best friend from when you were young 'cause the enemy is everywhere the enemy is everywhere it could be anyone you love it could be some one you despise it could be some one you don't know that well it could be your husband, or your wife it could be in your family yes it could even be in your blood it could be running through your veins right now yes it could even be yourself 'cause the enemy is everywhere the enemy is everywhere yes the enemy is everywhere the enemy is everywhere We know the enemy is everywhere the enemy is everywhere

I've been here for a long, long, long time well I don't know if all the things that I saw were real, they're a mystery I can't solve dressed in the light of the bomb the pyres grew deep in the night the smell was awful and it ate up the cries fires in every town and I can dream of a time when we'll no longer have to hide when we'll share our thoughts and fly out (of) the darkness of our minds and I can see the birth of love when we'll no longer need a god when we won't look up in fear at the skies over the seas wildflowers grow over the tomb they run with the demons crying all over my room hey it's me – the last man on the moon come share my doom
5.
drugged down souls we're ready to find you when you're most vulnerable and alone though we can offer no consolation we can dumb your senses and conceal the pain (so here’s a parade of) usernames and profile pictures all claiming to feel the same way as you do first a couple of minutes, then a couple of hours then fall asleep and dream of empty plazas and stores we're here to catch you yeah don't be afraid to fall if that's what you want didn't they tell you never to cross the merchants of isolation? we like you when you are helpless wasted crying on the floor there's no easier way for us to get you than bide our time and let you cage yourself no you won't have to think about your previous life if that helps if that's what you want didn't the tell you never to cross the merchants of isolation? don't be afraid to conform and you won't have to feel this way anymore (don't be afraid to conform) no you won't have to feel any way anymore no you won't have to feel this way anymore no you won't have to feel any way anymore no you won't have to feel this pain anymore no you won't have to feel anything anymore

lose it all 03:48
Lyrics: he has not seen he has not seen a human face in years his years felt countless like waves in a deep blue sea he'd go outside and wander off into the city crowd the cold glow showed hundreds at his side that his weary eyes couldn't just find loneliness, the kind that keeps you awake then haunts your dreams he dreamt of vast, deserted plains dark voids and bottomless pits he stood there lost in a chaos of jingles and advertising walls empty words floated gently above the ground where he stood silent and couldn't make no sound you see it's sometimes best just to let it all subside surrender to the rising void with the courage to let go, and then then lose it all she watered her beans in little jars upon the balcony hoping they would some day grow into a giant magic stalk and that it could lead that it could lead her to another Earth a world where he chose not to go a world where he'd return to her what is fear, this creeping torment weighing down her frown? and what are those rocks she's sewn into the pockets of her favorite gown the peer was cold the night shrouded in November fog but the water felt warm to her freezing soul knowing she wouldn't see the coming dawn you see it's sometimes best just to let it all subside surrender to the rising tide with the courage to let go, and then then lose it all

about

Streaming: distrokid.com/hyperfollow/zansgarden/e2VW

While my main focus as a musician remains electric guitar (I play and sing, along with other projects, in a band called Lesbian Wallet), over the years I also developed a very personal - horribly inefficient and downright wrong - three-finger style of playing the acoustic guitar, influenced by the music of Elliott Smith, Joshua Radin, Bob Dylan and Andy McKee (yeah, I wish). Roughly two years ago I started gathering and giving song shape to some ideas, lyrics and licks, which eventually become "idols and subterfuges".

Initially, I planned on recording way more complex arrangements than just guitar and vocals. Somewhen in the middle of the guitar recording session it dawned on me that while I don’t necessarily exclude the possibility of something as far as full band version of some of these songs (hence the somewhat bandy type of name), an extremely bare-bone production would have served more justice to the overall feeling of melancholy they all, to some extent, shared.

Creating, evolving and recording these songs has been an extremely cathartic experience for me, and I sincerely hope that at least a portion of all the emotions and meanings I poured into them can resonate with someone outside of myself.
